What is Digitizing? How much does it cost?

It is the process of converting your logo into a machine readable format which the machine can use to do the stitching of your logo. Click here for more info on digitizing. We generally charge $50 for an average sized design (5,000- 7,000 stitches). It is payable for each design as a one-off charge. The set-up charge only applies once assuming that your design does not alter and we will always provide you with a set-up quotation for your design before proceeding and then sample your design on fabric for final approval. If you are able to provide us with a pre-digitised logo in any current embroidery program , we will convert it for use on our machinery free of charge.

Garment costs are inclusive of one embroidery design in the position of your choice. Additional designs can be added in other positions at an extra cost per embroidery.

Is my logo going to look good digitized?

We use only the best digitising services and we have a 100% success rate. In certain cases, where your logo has elements which are unsuitable for digitising, we may need to simplify/ alter it slightly with your approval. Problems that may arise include detail for illustrations of logos being too small. Detailed logos and illustrations need to be embroidered as large as the design will allow in order to get a good reproduction. No type can be embroidered under the height of 4mm

Can you match my brand colours?

We can match any brand specific colours that you may have. See here for the complete thread colour chart we use. There only are a limited amount of thread colours (roughly 400), so in order to match Pantone references we have to pick the nearest possible thread. Gradients on one colour fading into another cannot be achieved and are safer to avoid. We offer a maximum of 9 colours of thread per design.

What do I need to give you for digitising my logo?

A top notch digitizer can provide high quality work, but only if they are provided with the right information to get the job done. Low quality artwork will lead to low quality digitizing.

Artwork should be clear, precise and in color. Fuzzy images are not acceptable. There is a popular computer phrase that says: “garbage in equals garbage out.” This applies to artwork and digitizing as well. You must make every effort to obtain and deliver the best quality artwork that you can. A fax of a fax is not suitable. Graphic files from the internet tend to be very grainy and pixelated, and are usually to low in quality for digitizing. Vector files are ideal, but high quality bitmaps are usually ok.

Second, you must identify what type of fabric the design will be sewn on. A design will require different stitch characteristics depending upon the type of fabric, as the type, texture and thickness of a fabric will affect the embroidery. Typically a design created for denim, will not sew as well on knit.

Third, the intended sewing size of the design must be clearly defined. A t shirt has a larger sewing field than a baseball cap. Be specific. Also be aware that small, intricate details do not work well on small embroidered designs. Just because it can be printed small, doesn’t mean that it can be sewn small. This is caused by the action of the needle. It takes two penetrations of the fabric for a needle to lay down a visible stitch. If the needle penetrations are too close together, the result is a large hole rather than a stitch. So don’t be surprised when the Digitizer tells you that some details are not practical
